Black Listed.

I am bothered by...

1. Jello.
Squiggly, jiggly, artificially flavored, hardened sugar water. What is jello? It consists of gelatin, water, artificial flavors, and food coloring. I mean, why? WHY? It doesn't even have a proper consistency, is it a liquid? or a solid?
2. When tags stick out of peoples shirts.
This one, I can't explain, it just annoys me.
3. When people stare.
I mean COME ON. Is it really necessary? REALLY?A quick glance once over is fine, even more then one is okay. But when somebody full on stares at you for an eternity its nerve racking. I get paranoid sometimes, "What the heck are they thinking? Is there something on my face? Do my socks match? Do they have laser vision?!"
4. Crowded hallways.
When I'm trying to get to my locker, there's rarely a time when I don't have to push my way through a pack of grade nine's. Sometimes I have to overshoot my locker entirely in order to wait for a moment when I can turn around without getting trampled.

5. Flat pop.
You get all stoked because soda's a treat. Then you go in for a sip, and instead of the flavor full carbonation your taste buds are waiting for... you get nothing but a syrupy disappointment.
6. Sand in you're hair.
As many times as you might shower after a day at the beach, you will always find a couple stray grains of sand in your hair for weeks afterwards.
7. When someone is listening to music really loudly.
There are two types of this that bug me:

  • When its on an MP3 and you can hear it, but only loud enough so you can't make out the words.

  • When music is pumping super loudly from cars. Does it need to be that loud

8. Writers block.
I can't think of anything to say about this.
9. When you shed hair, and it sticks to your back.
As many times as you might pick off the hairs, over and over again, there will always be more. It's the return of the obnoxious hairs!
10. When people talk on their cell phones while driving.
Its both not necessary and dangerous.
11. Knuckle Crackers.
When you take one of your knuckles and force it into making it crack when its not even supposed to do that in the first place, its disgusting. I cant help but gag every time i hear someone crack their fingers. Why does it need to be done? It doesn't really do anything but help you pave and easy path to arthritis later on in life.
12. Boys who wear they're pants below the bum.
The majority of the female population would agree that it is unattractive when boys pants are so far past their derrieres that they can't even walk properly. Its especially humorous when these guys are wearing belts and their pants are still that low, all I can say is "Why don't you put those belts to good use, instead of wasting your money on them?"
13. Excessive profanity.
Stop f***king swearing.
14. Re-runs.
You get all excited to see your favorite show, all the commercials for the newest one are on and you keep thinking, "Man, this is going to be a sweet episode." Then what could happen but a nice re-run, not the one you were waiting for. Oh, the cruelty.
15. When the elections are on and the TV show you want to watch is cancelled because of them.
Yet again, you're very favorite television show is on, and its the only reason you ever really watch television, and the elections are broad casted on every single channel.
16. When political leaders slam each other through the media.
I think its very childish to slam your opponent in such mean ways, really, just grow up. You want to lead our country? Stop insulting people.
17. People who talk during a movie.
Shut up you rude people. You want to talk during a movie? Rent one and talk at home. You didn't pay to sit there and catch up on the latest gossip, you payed to watch a film.
18. When people don't pick up their dog poop.
That's just gross. Who likes to walk through dog poo? No one? Oh well, its a little hypocritical if you leave it for someone else to step in then, don't you think so?
19. Missing the bus.
Even worse than missing the bus? Missing the bus by seconds, and you can see it just turning the corner, that's just brutal.
20. Thinking you have enough money, but don't.
Cashier: "Can I take your order?"
Customer: "Yes please, a small drink and a muffin please."
Cashier: "On debit?"
Customer: "Yes."
Machine: Insufficient funds.
Customer: "Oh, you cruel, cruel world."

Things are all around us these days that bother, bewilder and disgust us. Everyone has their "pet peeves", what are yours?

The Endangerment of Disinterest

In life, there are things that don't always make perfect sense, aspects that are uncontrollable. We find that if we stand up for something of tradition, or grab for something just beyond our reach, then we get figuratively "stoned". For instance, say you're running to be someone in higher power, but something goes wrong along the way, something that makes the people around you, that you're trying to impress, look at you with disgust, make you want to hide or run. Rumors spread like fire through a dry field. The words that are thrown at you like stones, leaving scrapes and bruises like any actual rock could leave.
In "The Lottery", the ending is almost sickening. Just reading that such a normal seeming community could do something so heinous as to torture an innocent person with a stoning, just because they drew a particular piece of paper, sounds extremely ludicrous. But even though the situation may be ridiculous, it seems only too real.
The situation ties to Eli Weisel's speech "The peril of Indifference" for reasons as simple as how people are very nonchalant about a bad situation, until they're involved, or they just don't want to be involved it all. Case in point, when "the St. Louis... was turned back to Nazi Germany" by the United States of America, with maybe 1000 Jews on its docks. North America never really got involved in the war until the incident at Pearl Harbour. Because it wasn't happening to us, we were indifferent to the overseas problems. Like with "The Lottery", Tessie Hutchinson didn't mind the idea of the yearly stoning, until her and her family was at risk.
When terrible things are happening worldwide, we don't do anything about it. Like bystanders we sit comfortably in our temperature controlled homes, on our recliners and couches, and watch horrors unfold on the news, and in the papers. We sit and wait, helplessly thinking there's nothing we can do. When will we learn that one person can create a mountain of difference if we stop this indifference?

Review

Stride, the ridiculously long lasting gum, really does last ridiculously long. Stride is meant solely for the avid chewer and the typical gum aficionado. For those who are looking for the thrill of chewing this natural latex confectionery, Stride is the experience of a life time for your taste buds and for your need to clench and relax your jaw repeatedly. The brand has a variety of flavors that uphold their fantastical reputation, from the classic spearmint, to they're newest flavor "Always Mandarin". Along with the admirable taste of the gum they also have an illustrious advertising campaign. They have illustrated the immensely good connection to the audience's need for humor in the slogan "Spit it Out Already", therefore producing an effect of extreme popularity. Stride cannot be compared to other competing gums, such as Trident or Five, because of the immeasurable unfairness to those... other... gums. The superiority to all other brands is so great, that it is not at all worth the comparison, and the contrast is just too great. It is evident that Stride deserves the attention of all of those who want a dose of long lasting flavor and has the obvious rights to be condescending of all other gums, because Stride is meant for those who deserve better.

Top three colors.

The criteria of the top three colors has been determined by the vividness of the color, the amount of people wearing the color, and the general publics primary favorite color. It can be assumed, that the brightest colors and the most eye catching colors with be the dominant favorites among people. So, therefore with a study performed by the F.C.S.O.C (Favorite Color Seekers of Canada), they have taken thousands of surveys, only to convey to the color enthusiasts of today, the statistics of the three most top rated colors across the country, and with those statistics we could estimate that these colors are favorites around the globe.

Color #3:
Blue
(/blu/)
The icy cool color of blue has reached number three on our list of the country's top colors. Avid survey and poll lovers, who have frequently answered our many questions have helped us in our quest to find out the country's favorites on the spectrum of light. Blue has the vibrancy of the hottest of flames but is almost always associated with very low temperatures, sadness, or even elements such as water and on top of all that, blue still remains one of the most commonly worn colors around the world (eg; Jeans). The word itself is derived from the Old French word bleu, giving it it's romantic sound and helping "blue" to roll gracefully off the tongue. Everyone will always and forever be, "forever in blue jeans".

Color #2:
Red
(/rɛd/)
Oh, red. Lovely, beautiful, warm, glowing red. The average color people wear, especially in the Christmas season. The color of romance and passion, and on the other side of the spectrum, bloody murder and anger. Red, with its many different connotations was a very close draw for the number one color. The word red, from the old English rēad, can be associated with strong emotions and leads the mind into thinking of wondrous things. Its vividness is extreme and can be considered one of the brightest colors of the rainbow, next to ones such as yellow and orange. But, this fiery primary color will always remain among the top of the worlds citizens favorites, and many people will always be the the biggest fans of red.

Color #1:
Green
(/grin/)
The word green is closely related to the verb old English verb growan, “to grow”. Its superiority was destined to be the general favorite of many people on account of its many available colors on the spectrum. Although it isn't one of the primary colors, it can be said that it is even more fantastic because it has two primary colors within it, blue, and yellow. Green is also among the favorite colors of ensembles for the everyday ecologist and for those who are promoting the awareness of "greening up" our planet as well. Lime green, forest green, olive green, swamp green and sage, are only a very few of the numerous amounts of versions of the ever beloved green.

What I want to blog about.

A blog about a blog? How abnormal. It reminds me of one of those pictures within a picture, except it's writing, about writing about subjects that I want.

This is so difficult. I'm supposed to write a paragraph on this? Why couldn't I just put some bullets down and take this in note form? This makes it hard to explain that I want to write about fun subjects, like the superpower blog we just did, or something about your favorite superhero. Or you could take an extremely generic subject, for example, "How was your day?" or "What did you eat for supper?". I want to have open ended topics, and topics that can have a wide range of ways to interpret them. Although I would like to inform any reader that this is what I would like to do, its just not possible, for you see, it's just to complicated to elaborate on this topic any further. I cannot go on with this ridiculousness.

Superpowers.

We all grow up wishing that we would turn out to be like Harry Potter, we would turn thirteen and suddenly be magic in some way or another. A mere child's dream to fly, to have super strength, or maybe even to be invisible. The child in all of us just silently wishing for that one glimmer of the supernatural. I myself have always wanted to read minds.

I was born with the misfortune of being with out the amazing ability to do so. I was also born with an annoying twin brother. I would always get the question, "So, can you read each others minds?" well, I'm telling you now, that never has, nor it seems ever will, occur. So, all my life i was hoping that my brother and I would have that "twin connection" where we could have telepathy, or an instance when we knew what the other was thinking whenever they had any notion of a thought. So you could suppose that my hopes of reading minds branched from that.

Think about it, how fantastic would it be if you could tell if someone is lying to you? For you to always be able to know the truth? Obviously the ability has its down points, such as knowing too much information, or knowing information you never wanted in the first place, but all in all, it would be a technique that would have so many possitive details. For example, you could be a detective, and find oout a plethora of information. If I could read minds, I would have no secrets, too bad for the person on the recieving end, but for me, bring it on.
